Core Cruiser-X Half Helmet (Wine, XX-Large) Review

I usually ride without a helmet (I live in PA where the helmet law was repealed), but sometimes I cross into Maryland and thus require a DOT approved helmet with me. I do not like, actually scratch that, I despise most DOT approved half helmets as they're often bulky things that make my already over-sized melon look a gigantic mushroom.

So I was pleasantly surprised by the Core Cruiser. Sure it adds some expected heft for a DOT helmet but that's due to the very extensive padding within. There's probably nearly an inch all around inside of thick protection and it feels very comfortable. There's no other luxuries here though - no snaps for a visor and the strap is old school thread-through which I much prefer; the silly car-seat belt buckle straps can't be adjusted and tightened on the fly like this type can. The paint finish is pure matte black and adds to the overall appeal.

I found it to be comfortable and overall looks great and at the price it's a steal.
