Benz Silent Rider Slip-On BT-45 Review
Product is effective at reducing exhaust noise on my 2012 Polaris Ranger Crew EPS. Engine noise remains, but much quieter ride, particularly in the cab which is nice for the driver and passengers. I welded the adapter to the Silent Rider rather than to the existing muffler and that does not seem to affect performance much if at all. It also means you do not have to weld on site. I would recommend seating the Silent Rider first to see what the best fit is for the adapter. I also put a couple of lock washers on the inside of the bolt with the included washer and lock nut on the outside. Then, use a wrench to secure the bolt on the inside and a ratchet wrench to tighten. I then painted them with flat black spray paint on both sides to seal them and eliminate shine. I tested this side by side with another Polaris of same model and year. Results of testing: (i) slight but not material acceleration loss, (ii) top end speed maybe 1 or 2 mph slower, and (iii) both ran at/about same temperature so did not seem to make my Polaris run hotter. I have been told to be careful with the mufflers/silencers, so do your own research and testing. I also installed on years ago on my Kawasaki Mule, and had similar results with no issues, still runs like the Mule it has turned out to be. For me, quieter is better, and although it may be by chance, I have seen more deer while driving with the Silent Rider than I did before in same areas. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Benz Silent Rider Slip-On BT-45" are high quality item.
