Just got these in today, and just by chance, the car got s flat today. Hopped down to the garage where a car tire sat, flat (a 205/65r16, Conti extremecontact dws). One pass around, bead was loosened. Due to the wider bead seat track on this rim (as with most car tires), I had to use a few pieces of 1x3 to keep the bead separated, then one under the tool - and plunk. Off goes the bead! No gouges, no scrapes, just light marks. I was worried of the steel marring the rim, but the smooth finish was rather gentle.
As for the tire lever side - it's thin enough to get in between, it's still strong enough to use the leverage required, but the tip curve does not seem to be as great as my tire levers by motion pro. Easier for them to slip. If the goal is to get these also fir that purpose, bring aanother iron out with you that has a bit more hook at the tip.
I'll be swapping out a set of bias ply tubeless motorcycle tires in a week or two on painted cast aluminum rims , and will update then.
Will also be prying off a set of Michelin PR3s this winter. Will update with each job.
The heft isn't so bad for touring. If you're going off road or hardcore sport touring, the aluminum ones may be the way to go. If you have a beast of a bike or are going destination sport touring, I believe these guys are the way to go. They seem as though they'll hold up in the shop and on the road.
