The material used for these is good, the protection they provide is good, the sizing is good, however the craftsmanship is questionable.
The first time using these the buckle came right off. I put my kidney belt over the waist and used them that day, I did not bring a spare set.
Since Amazon shipped these I contacted them for an exchange. Why not give them another chance right? Well Amazon said they can only refund my money they cannot exchange them. If I wanted another pair I had to order another pair. I can spend about $5 and get them fixed which I will do.
This to me is a very bad policy on Amazons part. Exchanging an item is a win / win for them. No money exchanged and they have to deal with the return and replacement anyway so it makes no sense to not have an exchange policy for this. Unless they are just hoping people will keep the faulty products like I am. Hmmm maybe I should rethink this.
ANYWAY
Be careful with these as the workmanship is not very good. If you do get a pair check the buckles and seams very well.
This is not the dealers fault, not Amazons fault(their exchange policy sucks), it is the mfg. fault so even if I don't buy this brand again I will still buy from this dealer.

** Update - 11/14/2012
There are foam pads that velcro in for hip protection. These are removed prior to washing. The velcro is a 1/2" x 1" strip. The foam has ripped around where the velcro attaches to it and it will actually rip all the way off if not fixed. I removed a star for this. Not a very good buy, it won't happen again.
