I bought and own this.
Some rain resistance
Some abrasion resistance
Some impact protection
Some protection from wind, cold, and sun.
Overall, several layers of protection all in one, at a great price. A great starter jacket.
Details:
Rain: About 30 minutes of light rain proofing; more than that and it starts to leak through. A little breathable, but opening the front/back zippers makes a big difference.
Impact: CE armor is sufficient for a low-speed crash/roll below say.. 50km/h. Unlike some more expensive jackets the armor actually stays in place over the joints as it should.
Abrasion: Some abrasion resistance for a low-speed slide.
Overall a great value for the money. I wear mine year-round for commuting on local streets. Matched with the armored pants it gives me some measure of security. On the freeway though, I wear race-weight leathers.
Summary: great value and highly recommended. If it wore out I'd buy another right away.
Update: I now wear a Aerostich Roadcrafter almost every day, but if you don't want to drop $1000 on that suit, this jacket and pants is a great set!
