I know they changed the formula for the Multi-use a couple years ago and introduced this product and that turned some people off. But, I've kept using it and it still works for me.

I use it every time I put gas in my bikes, about every 100-150 miles. I use it right after I ride and let it dry for a bit or overnight. When I'm traveling, I'll take the travel size with me and squirt some on the chain when I get gas.

Used this way, it keeps the chain pretty clean and lubed and there's very little fling off.
