The WD-40 Specialist Rust Remover Soak dissolves rust from corroded metal parts, eliminating the need to scrape or scrub them. The soak targets rust from both lightly and heavily rusted pieces, while having no effect on surrounding non-metal or painted components. The manufacturer recommends soaking lightly rusted parts between 1 and 3 hours, and leaving heavily rusted parts to soak overnight. The formula is non-toxic and biodegradable for easy disposal. I live at the Jersey shore, my house is on pilings about 8' above ground level. The water rose to 7' and every tool i owned were submerged in the salt water. Well after a couple of months I began to start to clean my now rusty hand tools ( sockets,pliers,dril bits,etc.). A friend told me that he saw this product on a TV show and purchased it and that it really worked great. So I bough the productand after soaking my sockets for in WD 40 Rust Remover Soak for about a day i couldn't beleive it, the sockets were free of rust and looked brand new (REALLY) and alls I did was let them soak, No wire brush,no scrubbing nothing just wiped them with a clean cloth and that was it.
